In central San Diego, a family took a heartfelt step to care for their elder mom by creating a space just for her—a beautifully designed 901 sq. ft. detached ADU. This "granny flat" blends thoughtful functionality with the charm of modern mid-century design, ensuring it’s both practical and inviting.
Inside, the layout is perfectly tailored to meet her needs. A single-story design ensures accessibility and ease of movement, with two spacious bedrooms, a large bathroom, an open living and dining area, and a well-appointed kitchen. Every corner of this ADU reflects a focus on comfort and simplicity, while clean lines and timeless details create a sense of sophistication.
The modern mid-century aesthetic brings this granny flat to life. It's bright with warm wood tones and sleek cabinetry in the kitchen are complemented by natural stone countertops and stainless steel appliances, striking a balance between style and functionality.
